Shibuya Zunchaka! is a special day
when you can freely play music in the streets of Shibuya.

Under the blue sky, in the middle of Shibuya where many people come and go,
anyone who wants to express themselves with music, come and join us.

Let's go out to the town together!

Musique des voisins - Call for independent music projects!-

SHIBUYA ZUNCHAKA!’s purpose is to create a one-day music liberation zone.
This year, the event will take place on July 9th (Sunday)."
Volunteers are at the forefront, creating stages and workshops on the streets and in parks throughout Shibuya.
Why not join us on this day to expand the music scene in Shibuya and plan an event where you can enjoy fantastic music?

Shibuya is filled with live music venues, clubs, music bars, record stores, and music instrument shops.
There are so many music enthusiasts in Shibuya.
If everyone can find their own way to enjoy music in Shibuya, this day can become an even more remarkable celebration!

We are looking for opportunities to allow people visiting Shibuya on July 9th (Sunday) to experience and play music during our "Shibuya Musique des voisins” Sunday!

  - DJ event open to everyone.
  - Open mic session.
  - Jazz live performance at a restaurant.
  - Anyone-can-join jam session.
  - Music lecture, let’s play the saxophone!
  - Pop idol event open to the public!

These are just some examples, and whether it to be an existing plan or a new idea, let's work together to create a fun-filled day of music in Shibuya!

Once your application is submitted, we will discuss it together and then feature it on the SHIBUYA ZUNCHAKA! website.

Application Requirements	1. You must agree with the purpose of SHIBUYA ZUNCHAKA! 2. Your project should offer an opportunity to enjoy sound in some way. 3. Your project should be something that participants can join on the day of the event. Any type of project genre is acceptable if the event takes place on July 9th. 4. You should be able to plan and manage the event independently, taking responsibility for its execution. The project organizer will handle the necessary staff and operating expenses for event planning.

"Machinaka" Center Stage - Zunchaka in the middle of Shibuya! -

Would you like to perform in the middle of Shibuya?

On this day, the place where you play music becomes "the center of Shibuya".

Beginners and first-timers are welcome! (And of course, even the experts!)

We aim to ignite your passion for playing, singing, dancing, and having a great time!

We will spotlight the diverse "stars of the town"

who have yet to be discovered!

Jam bands, Jug bands, Jazz combos,

Orchestras, Guitar duos, Solo recorders by elementary school students,

Guitar x Drums, Shakuhachi x Cajon, Vocaloid x Human beat box,

Guitar, Keyboard, Biwa,

Freestyle, A cappella, Yodeling, Hoomie,

Marching band, Vaudevillian, Ding-dong,

Irish folk, Ambient, “Aidoru”,

Ska, Soca, Samba, Rumba, John Lennon, John Cage,

Math rock, Power pop, Shoegaze,

New Orleans jazz, Free jazz, Acid jazz,

Sitar, Tonkori, Theremin, Steelpan, Nyckelharpa,

and any other music that no one knows what it is...

Whether you are a young or old, male or female, in a group or by yourself,

whether this is your live debut or your first time on stage in a long time,

whether you are just making memories with your parents, children, or friends,

Shibuya Zunchaka! is a special day of music for all of you!

We are looking forward to receiving applications from a wide variety of musicians.

Who can apply?	Anyone who agrees with the purpose of Shibuya Zunchaka! People of any age, background, and skill level are invited to participate. We welcome all styles and genres of music performances. However, if you are selected to perform, one representative must be able to attend the performers' meeting on May 21 (Sun.). We also ask for your cooperation in taking various measures to prevent COVID-19 infection. *A fee of 1,000 yen per group member will be charged for the purpose of management of the event. For details, please refer to the application guidelines.

Machinaka (in-the-town) Music Parade -We are looking for general participants!-

A parade will be held to announce the opening of SHIBUYA ZUNCHAKA! We will walk around Miyashita Park, from Jingu Street to Scramble Crossing to Meiji Street, wishing for world peace through music.

More than 100 people are scheduled to participate in the parade, including performers on Machinaka stage, a university student brass band team, a samba team from Asakusa, and a Celtic music club!

Meeting place	Jinnan Elementary School (5-1 Udagawa-cho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo)

Dismissal Location	Jingu-dori Park (6-21 Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo)

Age	Elementary school students and older (Elementary school students must have a parent or guardian participate in the parade) * Preschool children (under elementary school age) are not allowed to participate for safety reasons... Sorry. m(__)m

Other info	Pre-orientation for parade participants will be held online (Zoom) on June 18 (Sun.) from 11:00 to 12:00. You may have just one representative, please attend if possible (if you cannot attend, we will share the recording).
